Robert D. Dougherty, 81, died Feb. 18, 2013 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. He was born Aug. 22, 1931 at Casper, Wyo. the son of Brian and Dorthy (Dunlap) Dougherty. He married Linda Sanko April 21, 1965 at Great Bend. He was owner and operator of Cambria Corporation since 1967.
Mr. Dougherty was a Great Bend resident since 1960, coming from Denver, Colo. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving stateside during the Korean Conflict.  
He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 862, American Legion Argonne Post 180, American Legion Baseball, Boy Scouts and was chairman of Holy Family School Endowment, all of Great Bend; American Society of Petroleum Geologists, Kansas Geological Society, Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists, American Institute of Professional Geologists, State of Wyoming Professional Geologists, Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists and Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association.
He is survived by wife Linda Dougherty of the home; four sons, John Dougherty and Linda Rose of Brighton, Mich.; Paul Dougherty and wife Sarah of Tulsa, Okla.; Timothy Dougherty and wife Wendy of Great Bend; Dr. Michael Dougherty and wife Jill of University Park, Md.; one daughter, Katie Dougherty of Great Bend; one brother, James Dougherty and wife Margie of Fairfax, Va; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Dougherty, Brian Dougherty, Mercedes Dougherty, Kenny Anderson, Zachary Dougherty, Grace Dougherty, Adeline Dougherty, Emma Dougherty, Eve Dougherty, Samuel Dougherty, Gabriel Dougherty, and Anna Dougherty; and one great-grandchild, Roman Dougherty.
Vigil service with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3 p.m., Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
