HUDSON — Robert Dean Siefkes, 66, passed away June 26, 2017 at his home.
He was born May 11, 1951 at Stafford, the son of Melvin and Leona (Teichmann) Siefkes. A life-long resident of rural Hudson, he was an agronomist for Tyree Ag, Inc. of Kinsley. Robert received his bachelor’s of science degree in agricultural science and animal husbandry from Fort Hays State University.
On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Carol (Gee) at St. John. His memberships include, Peace Church, Hudson, where he was president of the church board; and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association-Fort Zarah Chapter, where he was the former president and current treasurer and former clerk of Hayes Township board.
He is survived by his wife Carol, Hudson; two daughters, Jill French (Ross), Salina; Julie Goetz (Doug), Salina; a brother, Verlin Siefkes (Sonya), Newton; a sister, Jan Sunday (George), Edwardsville; three grandchildren, Reagan and Taryn Goetz and Larkin French.
Funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1 at Peace Church, north of Hudson, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial will follow in the Peace cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 1-7 p.m. Friday, June 30 at the funeral home with family present from 5:30-7 p.m.
