Robert Lee “Bob” Kruckenberg, 85, died April 15, at Bethany Home, Lindsborg. Born Sept. 21, 1930 at Heizer, he was the son of Emil F. and Sophia (Soeken) Kruckenberg
Bob married Shirley Annette (Rensch) April 3, 1965 at Great Bend. She died Oct. 9, 2013.
A lifetime Barton County resident, Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Post 3111, American Legion Argonne Post 180, all of Great Bend, and the N.R.A.
Survivors inlude two sons: Robert Lee Kruckenberg, Jr. and wife LeAnn of Wichita, Eric Edwin Kruckenberg and wife Erica of Lindsborg;
four grandchildren: Adam Kruckenberg, Caleb Kruckenberg and wife Whitney, Chancey Kruckenberg, and Avery Kruckenberg; one great grandchild, Gretchen Kruckenberg; one brother, Lyman Kruckenberg, of Great Bend; one sister, Pauline Halfhill, of Great Bend; he was preceded in passing by three sisters: Dorothy Marymee, Grace Rhodes, and Marvella Perry.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend with Phillip Hett officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., Monday, April 18, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Boy Scouts of America, to benefit Quivira Council, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
