PRATT — Robert Otto Baird, 63, of Pratt, died Sept. 13 at Southwind Hospice, Pratt. He was born Sept. 23, 1946, at Walsh, Colo., the son of Robert Leo and Mary Lou (Pollard) Baird. He married Betty Lewis on Nov. 15, 1987, at Great Bend. He was an oilfield truck driver and dispatcher. Mr. Baird was a Pratt resident since 1994, coming from Great Bend. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Baird, of the home; four sons, Brian Baird of California, Scott Baird of San Jose, Calif., Wesley Cherry and wife Amy of Pratt, and Austin Caruthers and wife Tracy of Midland, Texas; two daughters, Stacy Nothdurft of El Cajon, Calif., and Leslie Cherry of Great Bend; five sisters, Etta Mae Walty of Lake Stevens, Wash., Karen Sisler of Sebree, Ky., Roberta Logan of Wichita, Linda Beauchaine of Vallejo, Calif., and Gloria Schroeder of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother, Gary Baird of Richland, Texas, and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and two brothers, Jimmie Baird and Danny Baird.

A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiant. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Donations are suggested to the Robert Baird Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
