WICHITA — Robert Rock Gunn, fondly remembered as “Rocky”, 64 years old, was called to be with the Lord on May 26, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family in the burn intensive care unit at St. Francis hospital in Wichita. Rocky was born in Great Bend on Aug. 25, 1952.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Gwen Gunn. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Gunn and Eryk Hurst; daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Doyle; sister, Gena (Steve) Dillard; brothers, Brad (Anita) and Jay (Debbie) Gunn; five grandchildren, Braylen Gunn, Caden Doyle, Lily Gunn, Kennah Doyle, and Violet Gunn; and many other family and friends.
Though he lived a rough, addicted, last 25+ years he always had a fun sense of humor, generous spirit, and a very loving heart. We choose to remember all of the good times and good qualities about Rocky. He loved his children and his family. We take comfort knowing he is at peace, though he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Pathway Church, 2001 N Maize Rd. A memorial has been established in his loving memory with The Lord’s Diner, 520 N Broadway St, Wichita, KS 67214.
