LARNED — Rodney Dean Befort, 59, passed away May 28, 2021 in Larned.
He was born May 11, 1962 in Goodland, Kan., the son of Donald Lee and Darlene Heinrich Befort. A longtime area resident, moving to Larned from Granbury, Texas in 1993, he was a professional sheet rocker and all-around handy man.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, where he was very active in his younger years. Rodney loved helping others, especially his family, and most recently he helped his brother install a new shower.
He married Lori Devine and they later divorced.
Survivors include his mother, Darlene Befort, Larned, Kan.; son, Bradley, Granbury, Texas; three brothers, Randall (Kim) Befort, Granite Bay, Calif., Ryan Befort, Belpre, Kan., Rodger Befort, Denton, Texas; two sisters, Sandra (Scott) Befort Coffelt and Stacia (Kevin) Befort Bowers, both of Olathe, Kan.; eight nieces and nephews, Joshua, Tana, Trevor, Austin, Laci, Gabriel, Nickalaus, Rhianna and two great nieces, Taylen and Parker. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Befort.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Larned Cemetery, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with family present from 7 - 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
