LARNED — Roger Allen “Butcher” Meeker, 62, died May 12 at his home in Jay, Okla. He was born Nov. 12, 1949, at Larned, the son of Frank and Lucille Steadman Meeker. He was a welder, working for Superior Boiler Works.
Mr. Meeker was in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the ADVA, the American Legion, the VFW and Green Country BCA Pool League.
Survivors include a son, Shane Meeker, Great Bend; three daughters, Tamera Wilcox, Salina, and Jessica Milsap and Tonya Meeker, both of Great Bend; two brothers, twin brother, Robert Meeker, and John Meeker, both of Hutchinson; two sisters, Judy Bettes, Eucha, Okla., and Cindy (Cynthia) Perez, Larned, and four grandchildren.
Memorial graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Larned Cemetery with the Rev. Ron David presiding. Military honors will be provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Roger Allen “Butcher” Meeker Memorial Fund, in care of the Beckwith Mortuary in Larned.
