WICHITA - Ronald D Darcey, 70, passed away on January 30, 2020, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He was born on January 14, 1950, at Pawnee Rock, to James & Marguerite (Flick) Darcey. He married Virginia Ann Lane on August 12, 1978, at La Junta, Colo. She survives. 

Ronald was a Wichita resident for the last 4 years, coming from Nashville, Ark. He retired in 2006 from Tyson Foods as a comptroller. He enjoyed clay sculpting and cross stitching. Ronald was an avid KU supporter, a lifetime member of the KU Alumni Association and KU Business Society. He was an avid traveler, especially enjoying his visits to National Parks.  

Survivors include, his wife, Virginia Ann (Lane) Darcey of the home; two sons, Questin Darcey of Wichita and Brenden Darcey of McKinney, Texas; a brother, Lynn Darcey and wife Barbara of Newton; two sister-in-laws, Sandra Darcey of Great Bend and Clara Lee Stafford and husband Ed of La Junta, Colo.; nieces and nephews, Jama Nicholas of Hoisington, Brad Darcey of Yukon, Okla., Allison Glasgow of Heath, Texas and Craig Darcey of Rowlett, Texas; and his cat, Nike Nell. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lowell Darcey. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Pawnee Rock Cemetery, with Pastor Morita Truman presiding. Memorials are suggested to Bent’s Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
