MCPHERSON — Ronald E. Miller, 78, passed away June 1 at Wichita. The son of John A. and Lillie (Flora) Miller, he was a farmer/stockman living on the farm near Macksville before moving to McPherson in 1996. A former U.S. Navy pilot, his memberships include Eden Valley Church of the Brethren, Dillwyn board of directors, Cedars board of directors and Young Eagles.  On Dec. 29, 1956, he married Ruth Jean (Grossnickle) at Curlew, Iowa. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2000.  On July 19, 2002, he married Audrey (Johnson) at Smolan.
 Survivors include wife Audrey of the home; son, Kenny Miller, Macksville; a daughter, Kathy Miller, Westminster, Colo.; three step-sons, Mark Carlson, Smolan, Calvin Carlson (Shelly), Lindsborg, Wayne Carlson (Nita Kay), Smolan; a step-daughter, Jennifer McConnell (Cam), Manhattan; a brother, Johnny Miller, St. John; two grandchildren, Krystal Fogg and Victor Burkholder; three great grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ruth and a daughter, Karen Burkholder.
Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, with Pastors Ethan Feistner and Parsram Venkatsammy presiding. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. that same day at the Eden Valley Church of the Brethren, Northwest of St. John, with Pastors Tom Harrison, Parsram Venkatsammy and Ed Switzer presiding. There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be given to the Eden Valley Church of the Brethren, Parkinson’s Foundation or the Young Eagles all in care of Minnis Chapel.
