WILSON — Rosie F. Peschka, 92, passed away May 27, 2016, at Heartland Haven in Inman. Born January 12, 1924 in Barton County, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary T. (Schreiber) Pelz. She grew up in rural Barton County and attended country grade school, then graduated from Hoisington High School. She moved to her farmstead south of Wilson in 1951. In her later years, Rosie was a dedicated employee of Eschbaugh Advertising in Wilson.
She was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Altar Society in Wilson. Rosie’s life was about her family. She was the caretaker and peacemaker of her sisters, children, and grandchildren. Although she wore many hats, farm woman, mom, and grandma were the ones which brought her the most joy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael (Karen) Peschka of Wilson and Randall (Nancy) Peschka of Ellsworth; daughters, Linda Nowlin (Al Slechten) of Burleson, Texas, and Karen Peschka (Bea Gotschall) of Geneseo; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Mater. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Eleanor Riedl and Shirley Pelz.
A Vigil Service with Rosary will be Monday, May 30 at 7 p.m. at Foster Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Mathew Chacko officiating. Interment to follow in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or Wilson Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.
