GREAT BEND — Rosine L. Parish, 102, died Nov. 12, 2017, at Kenwood Plaza Assisted Living, St. John.
She was born May 22, 1915, at Hudson, the daughter of Max and Minna (Nolte) Teichmann.
She earned a teaching certificate and taught for two years until she married Harlie Albert Parish April 10, 1938, at Hudson. He died Jan. 3, 2009. They moved to their farm home southeast of Great Bend immediately following their marriage and remained there until their deaths.
A lifetime Barton and Stafford County resident, Mrs. Parish enjoyed family, friends, frying chicken, reading, talking about past events, preparing for the holidays and sharing what she had made. She was proud of her heritage, her church and the state of Kansas. Mrs. Parish was a member of Peace Church, Hudson.
Survivors include a son, Harlie Parish, Jr., Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Kay Ellen Eisele and her husband Robert, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Patrick Wynn, Timothy Wynn, Julie Lehnig Bouge and Joseph Lehnig; and five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Joy Parish; daughter-in-law, Barbara Parish; son-in-law, Rudy Lehnig; three brothers, Otto Teichmann, Hugo Teichmann and Walter “Judge” Teichmann, four sisters, Lorene Teichmann, Velma Parish, Elsie Doellefeld Daniels and Esther Mueller, and a granddaughter, Shannon Parish.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at Peace Church, four miles north of Hudson, with Pastor Wade Russell officiating. Burial will be in Peace Church Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Peace Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
