MILBERGER — Ruth E. Miller, 90 of Hays and formerly of Milberger, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Via Christi Nursing Home in Hays.
Ruth was born May 7, 1922 in Milberger, the daughter of William Fredrick and Lydia (Templing) Karst. She grew up in the Milberger area and attended country schools.
Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond E. Miller Jan. 4, 1943 in Reno, Nev. They resided in California while Raymond was serving in the Army Air Corp until 1945. They resided on a family farm in Barton County.  Ruth resided in Russell from 2005 to 2011.
Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the Emmanual Lutheran Church in Miberger and the Sunflower Polka Club.
Surviving family include her daughter, Janice McCubbin, Grainfield; three sons, Byron Miller, Denver, Colo.; Randall Miller, Russell; and Richard Miller, Russell; Kansas; former daughter-in-law, Elena Miller, Buffalo Grove, Ill.; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Clarence Karst, Herbert Karst, Elmer Karst and Donald Karst and sister, Alvina Templeton.
Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger with Pastor Amy Austin officiating. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery.  
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
A memorial has been established as the Ruth Miller Memorial Fund.
