Ruth M. Immenschuh, 97, passed away at her residence in Great Bend, on Dec. 30, under the loving care of two dear friends. She was born April 3, 1914, at St. Marys, the daughter of Joseph and Grace Farrell. She married Earl Leo Immenschuh on Nov. 23, 1937, at St. Marys. He died Nov. 6, 1991. A Great Bend resident since 1952, coming from Topeka, she was manager of the Barton County Community College Bookstore until her retirement in 1984.
Mrs. Immenschuh was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society, Elks Auxiliary and CKMC Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include three sons, Dick Immenschuh and wife Betty of Topeka, David Immenschuh and wife Martha of the Kansas City area, and Brian Immenschuh and wife Stacie of Great Bend; son-in-law Everett Jones; eight grandchildren, Mason Jones, Douglas Jones, Kendal Jones, Kara Miller, Robin Droge, Scot Immenschuh, Erica Thomas, and Colin Immenschuh; seven great-grandchildren, Edward Jones, Cody Jones, Alex Jones, Trevor Jones, Mallory Droge, Sam Immenschuh and Max Immenschuh; and two step-grandsons, Kody Clawson and Kane Clawson. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dianne Jones; one brother, Eugene Farrell; and one sister, Gertrude Conrad.
Altar society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, both at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Father Don Bedore will be the celebrant. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
