Ruth Marie Cannon, 79, died May 23, 2015, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born May 16, 1936, at Dodge City, the daughter of Hillary and Ruth Borne. She married Manford G. “Bud” Cannon Oct. 29, 1949, at Boone, Arkansas. He died Dec. 7, 1982. A long-time Great Bend resident, she was an accounts payable clerk for Great Bend Manufacturing.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Cannon and his wife Linda, and Daniel G. Cannon, both of Great Bend; a stepdaughter, Janet Baker and her husband Stuart of Highlandville, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lewis Cannon.

Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Ruth Cannon Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
