Sadie Eunice Adams 1906 - 2012

STAFFORD  — Sadie Eunice Adams, 106, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Leisure Homestead, Stafford.  Born April 11, 1906, at Stafford County, she was the daughter of John Isaac and Della Ollie Brock Powelson. She was a 1923 graduate of Stafford High School and a graduate of Sterling College. She was an elementary teacher and had taught in eight different schools in Stafford County.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Stafford, and a member of the Stafford Trojan Hall of Fame.
On Oct. 10, 1924, she married Earl L. Adams.  He died in 1987.  After Earl’s death she adopted Irene Fischer and Edna Spangenberg.
She is survived by a nephew, Jay Powelson and wife Jeri of Greybull, Wyo.; daughter, Edna Spangenberg of Great Bend; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Fischer, and a brother, Taylor Powelson.  
Funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford.  Burial will be at the Stafford Cemetery.  Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church in care of the chapel.
