OVERLAND PARK — Scott James Peters, 37, of Overland Park, Kan. died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by those that loved him, in Weston, Mo., after a long fight with cancer.

Graduated with degrees from the University of Kansas. He had been joyfully married to Allison (DeCesare) for almost 8 years.

Scott loved His God, people, history, games with childhood friends, his Pearson Hall brothers, deep and hearty discussions about anything, and his two kittens.

Scott was a magnet for authentic friendships. He was fiercely loyal. He was strong and gentle. He was an absolute warrior as he fought cancer for 7+ years — now has laid down his sword and entered into an Everlasting Rest with Jesus. As his life has been celebrated we realize just how much he loved us and blessed us.

He is survived by his parents; his younger brother, Drew; his wife, Allison and their two kittens - Figgie and Frankie.

The funeral will be taking place this Saturday at Lenexa Baptist Church in Lenexa, Kan. Service will begin at 2 p.m.
