CHASE — Sharon Kay Douglas, 62, of Chase died June 19 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1950 at Lyons, the daughter of Raymond Arthur and Nancy Elizabeth (Kelso) Gates.
She lived most all of her life in Chase. She was a retired loan officer for The Bank of the West, Ellinwood, and also worked for Chase Bank.
She graduated from Chase High School and attended Barton Community College.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chase. On April 16, 1966, she married Jack Douglas.
Survivors include her husband Jack of the home; two brothers, Terry Gates of Memphis, Tenn. and Butch Gates of Lyons; four sisters, Neva Anderson of Garden Grove, Calif, Jennifer Matlock, California City, Calif., Brenda Boatwright of Chase, and Kelly Hayes, River Bank, Calif; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Birzer Funeral Home with John Hardy officiating. Burial will be at Chase Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Victory in the Valley in care of the funeral home.
