LARNED — Sharon L. Fleske passed away June 5, 2021 at Hays Medical Center, Hays.

She was born Jan. 27, 1950, on her dad’s birthday, in Pratt, Kan. to Harold Donald and Myrtillia Olive (Colclazier) Horner. A longtime area resident, she graduated from Greensburg High School in 1968 and then attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. before transferring to Haviland Bible College. She worked many years at Larned State Hospital and also enjoyed serving with girls’ ministries in the Assemblies of God churches in Great Bend and Larned, Kan.

Sharon married Larry Lee Fleske on Jan. 14, 1989, on her mother’s birthday. Larry preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2015.

Survivors include daughter, Amanda Frost, Great Bend; two beloved pets, Skippy and Grayson; two brothers, Donald (Diana) Horner, Mulvane, Kan., Robert (Debbie) Horner, Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Rhonda Staats, Larned, Kan., Dora (Larri) Gish, Aberdeen, Wash., Becky (Jeff) Wells, Americus, Kan.; many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; two sisters Kay Davis and Ann Callis; a niece, Toni Davis Ricke; and three great nieces, Taija Ricke, Jaiden Good, and Katelynne Bilyeu.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Encounter Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Dwight Dozier and Pastor Daryl Riffel presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Donate Life Kansas or Encounter Church to support missions, in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
