CLAFLIN — Sheila M. Oeser, 78, died April 10, 2021, at Azria Heatlh of Great Bend, Kan. She was born March 24, 1943, in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Kasper J. and Margaret (Darcey) Heinz.                                                                        On Dec. 29, 1962, she married Alan Kent Oeser in Claflin, Kan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2020.

A lifetime Claflin resident, Sheila was a much loved teacher, teaching for over 40 years. She started teaching in Lenexa, Kan., but soon moved back home to Claflin where she taught for five years at the Immaculate Conception Parochial School and then from 1972 to 1999 teaching Kindergarten, First Grade and Elementary Music at Claflin Public School.  

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Altar Society.  

She is survived by three children, daughter, Allison Layne of Kiefer, Okla.; sons, Phillip Oeser and Jon Oeser and wife Jane, all of Claflin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Oeser of Claflin; sister, Camille Haro and husband David of Sun City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Jordan Keenan and wife Nicole, Chandler Keenan, Bethany White and husband Seth, Taylor Oeser, Lawson Oeser, Lexi Oeser, and Lauren Oeser; three step grandchildren, Kristi Nixon, Kari VanPelt and husband Dae, and Kylie Crawford and husband Rick; one great grandchild, Easton Keenan; and 11 step-great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kassidy, and Kambree Nixon, Deagan, Jayln, Camryn, and Ian VanPelt, Kylie Marie, Ellie Mae, Kobe, and Rilynn Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Christopher Alan Oeser. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., with Vigil and Rosary to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday all at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Claflin, Kan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Terrance Klein. Burial will follow in Claflin Cemetery.
