LARNED — Shelbi Paige Werner, 29, passed away Aug. 28, 2016, peacefully at home while battling a long courageous fight with diabetes. She was born April 17, 1987, in Kingman, the daughter of Michael S. and Teri L. Denton Werner. She was a fun loving person with an easy going attitude and had an infectious laugh that could brighten anyone’s day. She was a free spirit and loved her family and friends beyond words. Her strength and smile shined bright even on her darkest days. She enjoyed being outdoors and truly loved playing with her nephews. Her life may have been cut short, but her love will live on forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her loving parents, Michael and Teri Werner, of Larned; three brothers, Jason Werner of Lawton, Okla., Nick Werner of Denver, Colo., and Barret (Darcie) Werner, of Pratt; two nephews, Vence and Beckett Werner, of Pratt; paternal grandmother, Betty Werner of Kansas City; aunts and uncles, Tim (Renae) Werner, of Wichita, Susie (Eddie) Nelson, of Kansas City, Tom (Amy) Werner, of Omaha, Neb., John Werner of Kansas City, and Chris (Lori) Werner, of Kansas City; and many cousins, friends and her beloved pets, Penny and Harley. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Oliver (Butch) and Billie Denton; paternal grandfather, Maurice (Moe) Werner and an aunt, Sally Jo Werner.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with Pastor Ryan Webster presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
