Sherlyn Sherry Karst 1947 - 2014

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Sherlyn “Sherry” Karst, 66, lost her courageous battle with squamous cell carcinoma on April 9. Born on Nov. 13, 1947, in Paola, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Pauline Riley. On Jan. 24, 1968, she married Don Karst, while attending Pittsburg State University.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Don; one son, Brett of Port Orange, Fla.; two daughters, Tara Mick of Las Vegas, Nev. and Tami Karst of Commerce City, Colo.; two granddaughters, Taylor Danae Karst and Joanna Rae Mick; her mother, Pauline Riley of Columbia, S.C.; and two brothers, Ed and wife Tonda of Columbia, S.C., and Rob of Olathe.
Graveside services will held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Hoisington Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
