Shirley A. Waldroupe 1945 - 2011

WICHITA — Shirley A. Waldroupe, 66, died April 24 at the Harry Hines Memorial Hospice Center-Via Christi in Wichita. Born April 24, 1945 in rural Rush County, she was the daughter of Leon Henry and Florence (Pfeifer) Matal. She graduated from Bison High School. A resident of Wichita for seven years, moving from Great Bend, she was a motor route carrier for the Great Bend Tribune and owner of T&J Bait and Tackle in Great Bend with her husband.

Survivors include three sons, Leon Sharp of Phillipsburg, Douglas Sharp and Michael Sharp, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Gina Sharp of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Joseph Matal of Hudson, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Matal; and a sister-in-law, Lila Matal.

Graveside services were held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Liebenthal. Memorials are suggested to the Shirley A. Waldroupe Memorial Fund.
