Stella Louise (Schlegel) Wilson passed away May 7, 2020 at Cherry Creek Nursing Center, Aurora, CO, from complications from multiple sclerosis and the corona virus.

She was born to Reuben & Alma (Hoersch) Schlegel at the family farm on Feb. 24, 1943. She graduated from Alexander High School in 1961.

Stella married Gary L. Wilson on Sept. 11, 1976 at her parents’ home in Alexander.

Stella graduated from the Dominican School of Nursing, Great Bend, KS. She was in the nursing profession all her life and was the director of nursing at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, KS; Grissell Memorial Hospital, Ransom, KS and also in Riverton, WY.

Stella is survived by her ex-husband, Gary; brother-in-law Mark DeWald; her niece, Jessica Riebel and husband Chase, and their children: Jacob, Abigail, Alexandrea, Annastasia, Ashley, and Flint; and nephew, Jonathan (Valarie), and their children: Tinesha, Reuben, and Heaven. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald, in 1960; her father in 1995; mother in 1996; her sister, Enid J. (E. J.), on Aug. 19, 2020.

She was cremated upon request; inurnment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made through Horan-McConaty Funeral Home, Aurora, CO.
