ELLINWOOD — Sue Elizabeth Ballantine, 67, died Jan. 22, 2015, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born on Feb. 28, 1947, to Donald H. and Violet Ann (Schartz) Ballantine. Sue was a resident of Wichita for 35 years and formerly of Ellinwood, KS. She retired from Boeing in 1998 where she worked for 20 years.
Survivors include son Kyle Ballantine (Tina) and granddaughter Katherine Anne of Wichita; sister Donna Scott (Dean) of Hoisington; two brothers, Daryl Ballantine (Millie) of Byers, and David Ballantine (Angie) of Odessa, Texas. Sue also leaves behind nieces Angela Brown of Wichita, Becci Pierce, Nancy Garman and nephew Gabe Garman, all of Hoisington. Other survivors include great-nieces and great-nephews Alexis, Taylor, Alexander, Sydney, Makenzie, Blake and Adam.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daniel R. Ballantine; and great-nephew Tre’ Lewis Cherry.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, with Father John Forkuoh presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon the day of the service at Minnis Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Sue Ballantine Memorial Fund in care of Minnis Chapel.
