PRATT — Timothy Wayne Mix, 44, died Oct. 1 at his home in Pratt. He was born Oct. 28, 1965, in Kinsley, the son of Larry and Carolyn Thomas Mix. He was a 1984 graduate of St. John High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Schenectady stationed in San Diego, Calif. More recently he was head cook for Great Western Dining at Pratt Community College.
Survivors include his parents of St. John; best friend, Thomas Owens, Pratt; three sisters and their husbands, Tina and Jeff Weiszbrod, Pawnee Rock, and Tanya and Stephen Kirby and Tammy and Mike Menkhoff, all of St. John; nieces and nephews, Shane and Jessica Weiszbrod, Larned, Dustin and Jana Weiszbrod, Manhattan, and Kayla Estes and Daulton Kirby, both of St. John; great-nieces and great-nephews, Ethan, Dylan, Trinity and Paisley; and a grandmother, Margaret Mix, Great Bend. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends and PCC family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Mix and Glen and Lucille Thomas.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Julie Shields presiding. Inurnment will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
