Ronald E. “Ron” Schepmann

Twila Marie Grose, 80, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2020 at her home in Ness City, Kansas. She was born February 21, 1940 in LaCrosse, Kansas to Alois J. and Agnes M. (Legleiter) Ruder.

Twila was raised in LaCrosse, Kansas and was a 1958 graduate of LaCrosse High School. On February 9, 1959 she married Vaughn Grose in LaCrosse, Kansas. They made their home and raised three children in rural Ness County. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1982.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society and EHU all of Ness City. Twila enjoyed keeping busy whether it was taking care of her children and following their sport activities, working on the farm or cooking for many area weddings. She also drove a school bus for the Bazine schools and worked as a secretary for the ASCS office, Inland Crude/Texaco, and the Rush Center CO-OP. She was a true friend to many, and whether you liked it or not, she would definitely share her opinion.

Twila is survived by her son, Rick Grose (Dawna) of Bazine; daughters, Kim Shaw of Wichita and Kristi Suppes (David) of Great Bend; brother, Jerry Ruder (Diane) of Hays; four grandchildren, Kayla Witthuhn (Dusty), Kyle Grose (Carlie), Lynea Rowe (Marc), and Kory Suppes (Mercedes) and six great-grandchildren, Allie, Trenton, Trevor, Koen, Hayden and Mac, all whom she dearly loved.  As well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, sister, Viola Conrad, and an infant brother, Joseph Ruder. Along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Grose family.

Funeral service and burial will be on Monday, August 31, 2020, 10 a.m. at the Bazine Cemetery. Friends may sign the book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Bazine Cemetery Fund, Christ Pilot Me Hill, or Ness County Bank Building.
