Vance Baldwin 1932 - 2016

KINGSDOWN — Vance Baldwin, 83, died May 14, 2016, at Dove Estates in Goddard. Born Oct. 26, 1932, in rural Kingsdown, he was the son of Minnie Mae (Ellis) and Harry Franklin Baldwin. He graduated from Kingsdown High School and Kansas State University. On Aug. 12, 1952, he married Pauline Blazer in St. John. He was involved with various companies as well as starting and growing several small businesses. Later in life for 15 years he was co-owner and operator of Baldwin’s Corner in Bucklin with his wife Pauline.
Mr. Baldwin was a United States Army veteran stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base South Dakota.


Survivors include his three children, Terri (Art) Keffer, of Ellinwood, Greg (Susan) Baldwin, of Wichita, and James (Julia) Baldwin, of Austin Texas; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; sister, Bebe; and brothers Mark, Joe, and Mike.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, at the Kingsdown Presbyterian Church officiated by Pastor Suzie Woods. Interment will be at Bucklin Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Minnis Mortuary in Bucklin.
