HESSTON — Velorris O. Boese, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on March 6, 2024, at Schowalter Village in Hesston, Kan. She was born in Great Bend, Kan. on April 17, 1931, to Harry and Gladys Rudiger.

She attended Shady Grove Country School and Oklahoma Bible Academy High School before majoring in elementary education at Bethel College in Newton, Kan. She taught one year and had a great love for children, before marrying Robert D. Boese and settling on the family farm just east of Dundee, Kan. 

Survivors include her children, Stanley Boese and wife, Zeta, Kevin Boese and wife, Becky; son-in-law, Jay Osborn; siblings, Marlene Seibel and husband, Harlan, Melton Rudiger and wife, Mary, Joan Unruh, Eldo Rudiger and wife, Evelyn; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Roberta A. Osborn; her parents; brother, Velmar Rudiger; brother-in-law, Gary Unruh; and many aunts and uncles.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Dundee Valley Cemetery, Dundee, Kan, with Reverend Jerry Jamieson presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the MCC Relief Sale, National Bible Society, or Gideons International, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
