DORRANCE — Vernon Lamatsch, 74, died Nov. 29, 2011 at the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 28, 1937, the son of Joseph Lamatsch and Anna Boor. A lifetime resident of the Dorrance, Dubuque and Wilson area, he was a farmer and stockman.
Mr. Lamatsch was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, the St. Wenceslaus Knights of Columbus and the St. Wenceslaus Church Choir.
Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Brungardt (Jim) and Mary Zirkle, both of Liberal; a foster brother, Mike Hill, Great Bend; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, in 1985; his mother in 1994; and his brother-in-law, George Zirkle in 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson with Father Jarett Konrade officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Beaver. A Prayer Vigil is scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may visit from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday at Foster Mortuary; and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Foster Mortuary and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund in Beaver.
