WOODBINE — Vincent E. “Vince” Malson, 71, of Woodbine, Georgia, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, at home. Born on August 21, 1941 at Ft. Scott, he was the son of Charlie and Lucille (George) Malson. The family lived in Erie and moved to Great Bend, where he graduated from Great Bend High School in 1959.
Vince and Rhonda Peters were married on August 3, 1974 in Ventura, California.
Vince was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ventura. He enjoyed working, hunting, going to lakes and water skiing, and spending time with his Grandchildren. Vince loved playing jokes and greeting everyone that crossed his path with a smile on his face. Vince had the gift of forgiveness and seeing the good in everyone he met.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five children. Dwayne Malson, and his wife, Patti of Bakersfield, Calif., Donald Malson, and his wife, Alice of Woodbine, Georgia, , Robert Malson of Ventura, Calif., and Christopher Malson of Bakersfield, Calif.; his daughter, Jenifer Franco, and her husband, Daniel of Ventura, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, his twin brother, Victor Malson of Parsons and Charles Malson of Camarillo, Calif.; his sister, Virginia Schnickels of Uniontown; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Austin Malson; a brother, Hollis Malson; and a sister, Norma Lee Spear.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12th, at 10:00 a.m. at Carson-Wall Funeral Home112 N. 26th St. Parsons, KS. Burial service will follow at East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening. A memorial service will be held in Ventura at a later date.
