Vincent Wayne Ochs 1933 - 2012

NEWTON — Vincent Wayne Ochs, 78, died at home in the arms of his family. Born on Nov. 4, 1933 in Timken, he was the son of Phillip Ochs and Verna Morgan Scheurman. On June 1, 1954 he married Gloria Schope in Albert. He was the former owner and operator of Ochs Cleaners in Newton from 1974-1997.

Survivors include his wife Gloria of the home; two daughters, Cheri Ochs Wheeler and husband Edwin M. Wheeler Jr., of Marion and Lesa Redger and husband Perry, of Newton; six grandchildren, Zachary Bauman, Chelsea Redger, Skylar Bauman, Dustin Redger, John Wheeler and Jason Wheeler; six great-grandchildren, Jori Sky Bauman, Corbin Wheeler, Burton Harshman, Morgan Wheeler, Aspen Wheeler and Gunnar Wheeler. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Brent Wayne Ochs; a brother Wendell; and two sisters, Helen and Alma.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Marion Presbyterian Church, in Marion. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family greeting from 6 to 7 p.m., at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
