OTIS — Viola Rosetta Wagner, 93, died Dec. 20, 2021, at Legend Senior Living, Hutchinson, Kan. She was born April 10, 1928, on the family farm in Russell County, Kan., the daughter of Solomon and Lydia (Bitter) Wegele.
On Aug. 15, 1948, she married Raymond O. Wagner at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kan. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2013.
Viola was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis and was active in the church choir and the A.L.C.W. for many years. She was an accomplished quilter and made many quilts for her family and the church. She also volunteered at the Otis Elementary School as a grandma reader.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Wagner and wife Marta of Littleton, Colo., and Larry Wagner and wife Charlotte of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Wagner and wife Heidi, Amy Wagner and husband Ken Parker, Brett Wagner, Bradley Wagner, Chris Wagner and wife Kimberly, Ryan Wagner and wife Megan, and Shane Wagner and wife Sarah; and six great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Anya, Henry, Grayson, Cohen, and Avery Wagner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepmother, Bertha (Radke)Wegele; four brothers, Otto, Walter, and Roland and Leonard Wegele; and a sister, Esther Dumler.
Vistitation will be 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday, with family to greet friends 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, with Stan Ewy, SAM, presiding. Burial will follow in Otis Lutheran Cemetery.
