HUTCHINSON — Virgil L. “Virg” Schremmer, 70, died Oct. 30, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 16, 1946, in Great Bend, to Oswald “Ossie” and Hazel T. “Babe” (Driscoll) Schremmer.
Virg graduated from Hoisington High School in 1964 and was a supervisor for Collins Bus. He loved to play ball with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and to be spoiled by “my girls,” Mart and Lynn. Virg was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, with enough Chiefs memorabilia to fill an entire store.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, Hutchinson; daughter, Lisa Pickering and husband Darrin, South Hutchinson; sisters, Miriam Wilborn and husband Keith, Marcia Schremmer, all of Hoisington; grandchildren, Tyler, Abbie, Trammer, Taylor, Hadlee, Darrian, Payton, and Gage; and numerous nieces and nephews, which he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Shawn “Dubba” Schremmer.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501. Another Celebration of Life service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Mo. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery, Gainesville.
The family has requested those attending his services to wear casual attire of Virg’s favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
