Virginia Rosalee Zumalt, 97, passed away Dec. 24, 2021, at Medicalodges of Great Bend. She was born on Aug. 18, 1924, in Florence, Kan., to Otto Ray and Tarcy (May) VanBibber. She married Elmer Zumalt on July 15, 1941 in St. John, Kan.
Virginia was a homemaker and worked with her husband in their business, Hiland Dairy. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Great Bend for 83 years.
Survivors include, her daughter, Diane (Ken) Warrick of Branson, Mo.; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Fraas of Wichita, Kan., Lexie (Brian) Barling, Lenexa, Kan., Melissa (Bill) Lloyd, San Antonio, Texas, Megan (Dan) Reed, Centerville, Ohio, Chris Swagerty and Sara Perreault, Great Bend, Kan., and Maranda (John) Miner of Niceville, Fla.; and 16 great grandchildren, Katie (Mike) DiPero, Jared (Holli) Rogers, Logan Rogers, Holland (Chris) Hayes, Greta (Matthew) Peterson, Olivia (Gary) Worden, Benjamin Barling, Zachary Dunavan, Joshua and Maddy Lloyd, Claire (Matt) VanWyhe, Halle Short, Jack and Grace Reed, and Jameson and Maddox Miner. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and a son, Gary.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at First Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend Josh Foster presiding. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m., in the Great Bend Cemetery prior to the service. Memorials have been designated to First Church of the Nazarene, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
