MT. HOPE — Walter Henry Knocke, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark. passed away on Jan. 20, 2018 at Circle of Life in Springdale. He was born the son of Edward and Hilda Knocke in Pawnee Rock, Ks. on Sept. 5, 1926. Walter was an outstanding athlete at Wichita State University in both football and basketball. He worked for Traveler Insurance for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty; son, Stanton of Shawnee, Ks.; daughter, Martha Paulk of Castle Rock, Colo.; brothers, Erwin of Arkansas City, Ks., and Ronald of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista at a later date. Memorials may be made to the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Rd. Bella Vista, AR. or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, Feb.. 3, 2018 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mt. Hope, Ks. at 1 p.m., Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Mt Hope, Ks.
