LARNED – William “Bill” C. Dooley, 85, passed away Feb. 17, 2022 at Country Living of Larned.
He was born May 16, 1936 in Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Carl Andrew and Esther Rose Miller Dooley.
A lifetime area resident, he was of the Christian faith. He was a teacher and served in the United States Army. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, Prairie Arts Unlimited, KNEA, and National Educators Association.
On June 20, 1961 he married Effie Kay Loyd in Marlin, Texas; she survives.
Other survivors include: son, Les (Sheila) Dooley, Larned; four daughters, Tammy (Joe) Rosenberg, St. John, Teresa (Maurice) Wahlbrink, Belton, Mo., Carla (Rick) Lile, Larned, Trish Winberg, Belton, Mo.; sister, Katherine Dooley, Colorado Springs, Colo; 15 grandchildren, Devin, Zach, Terron, Josh, Austin, Jessica, Katie, Lyndi, Blake, Cory, Alex, Jonnie, Billie, Brianna, Cheyenne; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Jon McDonald, Lyle Fisher, Christina Creech, and Marleah Hedrick presiding. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery with military graveside rites.
