HEIZER — William F. Strecker (Bill), 88, passed away on Jan. 8, 2022, at Almost Home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Feb. 18, 1933, at Spearville, Kan. to Ignatius and Nellie (Schulte) Strecker. Bill married Marilyn Schawe on Aug. 22, 1964.

He started up a family business in 1981 in Heizer, Kan. He was never fully retired as a machinist. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and of the Knights of Columbus

Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, William (Sherrie) Strecker Jr. of Baltimore, MD., Martin Strecker of Great Bend, Kan., Roger (Kim) Strecker of Sedalia, Mo., David (Somchanh) Strecker of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Rose Marie (Norman) Lang of La Crosse, Kan.; two sisters, Agnes Stegman of Branson City, Mo., and Louise Littrell of Kinsley, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Chris Lang, Mindy Featherstone, Adrien Furusho, Klarissa Harker, Cody Strecker, Nicole Strecker and Shaun Strecker; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ignatius Jr., Bernard, and Carl Strecker; four sisters, Pauline Burkhart, Mary Hall, Nellie Lobmeyer and Kathryne Lobmeyer; and two grandchildren, Audrey Furusho and Ryan Strecker.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Wesley Schawe presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Prince of Peace Parish or Almost Home, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
