ELLSWORTH —  William Robert John Bricker, 79, died Feb. 20 in Salina.  He was born May 9, 1933, in Larned to Robert and Bertha (Bahls) Bricker. He attended Lucas High School class of 1954. On March 29, 1974, he married Hulda Nienke Carr. An Ellsworth resident since 1971, he was a  custodian for Ellsworth High School, retiring in 1993.
Mr. Bricker was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 6485 and American Legion Post 174, all of Ellsworth.  He served in the U.S. Army artillery in Korea in 1954-1955.  
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Trudy Lough of Salina and Dody Bricker of Solomon; stepson Phil Carr of Pittsburgh; brother Dave Bricker of Lucas; sister Lillian Lawrence of Russell; grandchildren Abby, Nikki, Matt, Cameron and Colby;  and  great-grandchildren Jarrett, Jadyn, Matthias and Nolan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Jeff and Les; sister Mary Jane; and brother Jim.
Visitation will be 1-8 pm, Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with family receiving friends 2-4 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following in the Lucas City Cemetery, Lucas. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or VFW Post 6485, in care of the funeral home.
