Grant helps older Kansans

To the editor:

On Nov. 8, 2018, the SouthWest Kansas Area Agency on Aging (SWKAAA) was awarded a $4,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas for a project called Technology Upgrade Grant Request to upgrade the agency’s older computers and update and enhance the networking system used by the HUD Section 8 Housing Program.

The SouthWest Kansas Area Agency on Aging is economically dependent upon performance-based grants from the state and federal governments. Finding resources to replace computers and other capital equipment is always an ongoing struggle so these funds are timely and greatly appreciated. The Community Foundation of SouthWest Kansas has been a valuable partner to our agency over the past years and we are blessed by their continued support to help in accomplishing our mission on a daily basis.

From myself, the Board of Directors, staff and the approximately 5,000 older Kansans and persons with disabilities we serve, we thank the Community Foundation of SouthWest Kansas for their gift.
