Allison has made a difference

Dear Editor,
Since Dr. Mike Allison has been mayor of Great Bend the last 12 years, much has happened we can be proud of:
• A  4.2 percent growth in population, when most rural communities saw a decline in population
• A decrease in the mill levy from 45.09 to 42.33, which is a drop of over 6 percent, while most other taxes have gone up
• Unemployment in Great Bend is currently 5.5 percvent where the national average is 8.9 percent
Under Mayor Allison’s leadership, Great Bend and many of its businesses have prospered.
I can’t speak for other businesses, but I can say with certainty that CPI would not exist or have stayed in Great Bend without Mayor Allison’s direct support.
Since Mike Allison has been Mayor, CPI has grown from around 100 employees to over 500 employees, with an average pay rate well above the state average.
A vote for Mayor Allison is a vote to continue this prosperity.
Bob Dema,
Great Bend
