Dear Editor,
The Red Cross will have a blood drive in your community on Monday Jan. 5, from 11:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., held at St. Rose Auditorium on Broadway and Baker. Donors can call 1-800-GIVE LIFE to schedule their appointment to donate.
The Red Cross has helped save and improve the lives of millions. So long as generosity, caring and the willingness to extend a helping hand live in the American heart, the Red Cross will turn that compassion into action- today and always.
The upcoming blood drive will be a tremendous help at this crucial time. We hope to encourage enough people to come in and donate so we can sustain adequate levels through the winter months, when donations are still needed.
Blood donors should be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds and be in general good health. Drinking extra water before and after each blood donation is recommended. Most medications do not prevent blood donations.
Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood. Through dedicated blood donors giving of themselves, we will continue to help America. Thank you for your continued support.
Corry Herrman
