Crest Theatre rock to jazz
Placeholder Image

Dear Editor,
This past Saturday night, March 4, the Crest Theatre rocked to the sounds of jazz performed by the 312 Army Jazz Band. The capacity audience enjoyed great jazz numbers performed by wonderful musicians. An additional treat was the performance by the Great Bend High School Panther Jazz Band under the direction of Mark DeWald and Don Regehr that opened the program. All in all, it was a great night of exceptional music which gave pleasure to young and old alike.
I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Great Bend Tribune for partnering with the Jazz Festival committee in promoting and advertising the event. I also wish to thank our other loyal sponsors, CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions and Barton County Arts Council. Without their help and the help of many other businesses in our community, we would not be able to present outstanding musical entertainment for the past 23 years. The Great Bend Jazz Festival has helped to put Great Bend on the “musical map” in Kansas and we hope to continue for many, many more years.
