To the Editor: Cleanup crew should have been supervised
Families upset over cleanup before Veterans Day.

Hillcrest Cemetery cleanup
Cleanup of the cemeteries north of Great Bend has upset some families of the deceased. Flowers and decorations were removed before Veterans Day.

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to complain about the cleanup at the Veterans Cemetery and Hillcrest Cemetery. They hired a crew to clean it up and they threw out all the flowers. There was not a flower one out there for the Veterans Day event. Nobody took the time to make sure the crew did things right. We were told they weren’t supposed to throw out the flowers in the vases. Both cemeteries look terrible. It is really sad. We weed-eat our graves every two weeks and take care of them. We talked to the guy in charge of Hillcrest Cemetery. He said they hired a crew to clean it up and he didn’t even apologize. Flowers are not cheap. Go take a look for yourself. Both look sad.
