Ellinwood event a success

Dear Editor,
A big thank you to the Ellinwood Kansas Cattle Drive Committee who did an excellent job along with the Cox Ellsworth Trail Reenactment group.
The day’s activities seemed to be well organized and they kept things moving.
It was fun stepping back in time and thinking about what may have happened as we listen to story teller Nolan Sump, or listened to the Contessa Show as told by Marla Matkin, or the special music or Judy Coder along with cowboy poet McGeff Dawson.
The fashion show and beard/mustache contest refreshed our memories of the past.
Who didn’t enjoy the gunfights or the tunnel tours? It was real cowboy time at the ranch rodeo as well. The end of the drive is to be in Ellsworth this weekend.
The food was good, the children had fun and everyone seemed to enjoy thinking about the old west.
Thanks again to our hard working committee members.
Rosalyn Borchers,
Ellinwood
