Dear Editor,
Thank you all for all the support this year and all who have donated so far to the American Red Cross and our lifesaving mission of collecting blood. With your help, we are able to spread the word about the need for blood and help give patients another chance at life. Your support has made a significant impact on the community and the blood supply. We cannot thank you enough for helping patients in need.
Law enforcement officers and firefighters from Barton County have teamed up with the American Red Cross to raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood through the Battle of the Badges
Everyone who came in to donate received a free Battle of the Badges T-shirt and a chance to vote for law enforcement or firefighters to determine this year’s winner.
The Fire Department ended up with 173 votes and the Law Enforcement ended up with 73. Congratulations to the Fire Department.
Hometown Heroes in our community give selflessly of themselves, in order to help build a better quality of life for others. Whether you are a blood donor, a financial contributor, a volunteer, or one of the many local organizations with which we partner, we salute you.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the American Red Cross Blood Drive, Monday July 23rd. There were 153 people who came in to share their life-giving blood. Our goal was 170 so maybe next Blood Drive we can make our goal. All who donated can feel proud we did our civic duty and helped to ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in hospitals throughout our area.
As a blood donor or volunteer, each of you has helped the Red Cross fulfill their mission of a safe and ample blood supply. Hospital patients rely on us and we delivered! I want to thank each of you for being a part of this lifesaving experience. Especially Holy Family Church, who let us use their facility. En-Rev provided the fresh bottled water as they always do. Also, a big thank you to the Trustees from Barton County. They were a great help setting up for the Blood Drive. This was a really big help to us. And of course to all
the donors who came in to donate their blood.
We look forward to saving more lives at our next drive is Monday, September 17 at St. Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker from 11:15 to 6:30. The Blood Drive will be back at St. Rose on Broadway and Baker again. If you would like to help, please call at 800-GiveLife.
