Dear Editor,
The officers and board of directors of the Community Food Bank of Barton County would like to thank the Great Bend Tribune for sponsoring the Women’s Expo on Sept. 28. There were 558 canned food items donated plus cash. The Expo was a great educational expenence in additional to helping young people provide for their families.
Once again, thank you to our community.
Also, the officers and board of directors would like to thank the residents of Great Bend for their generous donations of canned food items given to the Quivira Council of the Boy Scouts Kansas District. Many thanks to the Boy Scouts and their dads, to our hard-working officers and directors, and girls from Barton County Youth Care that helped make Scouting for Food Success a big success!.
The Food Bank received over 2,000 pounds of canned food items.
