Dear Editor,
Please help the Red Cross by giving blood at a blood drive or blood donor center near you.
Volunteering to donate blood benefits everyone. Just one donation has the potential to save up to three lives. Your blood donation boosts the blood supply in your community. Plus, you can feel good knowing you donated blood to help save lives.
It’s a great time of year to donate blood for the first time or to increase the number of donations you give in one year. Your winter blood donation is important because blood supply levels often drop this time of year. Inclement weather and illness can cause the cancellation of blood drives and/or keep donors from traveling to donation sites.
The American Red Cross is the largest blood collection and distribution organization in the United States, providing blood to nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide. The organization would not be able to supply hospitals with lifesaving blood and blood products without the support of generous volunteer blood donors like you.
Thank you for celebrating National Volunteer Blood Donor Month by donating blood this March. You are helping to save lives and your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Locally you can donate at: Great Bend Community Blood Drive, St. Rose Auditorium -1412 Baker St., Monday, March 4, 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Sincerely,
Corry Herrman
Blood Drive Coordinator
