Dear Editor,
To the many who vote on Family Values, I humbly request you vote for Alan LaPolice in the Aug. 5, Republican Primary Election for Congress in the First District of Kansas. When in the Kansas Legislature, 1976-82, I gathered over 20 bi-partisan sponsors on a House Bill to require informed consent after a 24-hour waiting period in Kansas. The Bill had not passed when I left State Government so I joined a group which founded the Kansans for Life organization, served on the Executive Board and accomplished the enactment of this law working within the law.
Please vote for Alan LaPolice, a Gulf War Veteran, as the best Family Values person to be nominated in the Aug. 5, Republican Primary Election for Congress in the First District of Kansas. I know Alan LaPolice will work within the law to promote Family Values, unlike his Opponent who participated in civil disobedience outside of George Tiller’s Abortion Clinic. This last Jan. 22, Alan LaPolice attended the March for Life in Washington DC, a positive Rally, not a negative Protest like the one which resulted in a Tim Huelskamp arrest in Wichita during the Summer of Mercy.
Alan LaPolice will work to promote Family Values while demonstrating an ability to work well with others always respecting the rule of law. On the other hand, Tim Huelskamp returned to “Tiller’s Old Abortion Clinic” to protest as recently as Dec. 6, 2013. Congressman Huelskamp is described on his Wikipedia page as after the United States Supreme Court declared the DOMA unconstitutional on June 26, 2013 he immediately went on a conservative radio program, to denounce the Supreme Court Justices. Huelskamp said. “I can’t even stand to read the decisions because I don’t even think they’d pass law school with decisions like that.”
Congressman Tim Huelskamp never served in the military or attended much less passed law school, yet he recently publicly urged Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to decide a pending case based upon his “Catholic beliefs.” The Congressman lacks a basic understanding of the Constitution as a social contract which limits the power of government.
Alan LaPolice has been the target of a smear campaign which no one would mistake for an act of Christian love. The Incumbent says the Challenger’s past work as a movie actor will not be an issue in the campaign, yet it was the Huelskamp campaign which mailed DVD copies of the film to media outlets and campaign surrogates continue to misrepresent the matter.
For the record, Alan LaPolice responded by saying: “I am concerned that individuals in leadership roles who claim to share my strong family values would confuse acting with advocacy.”
Alan LaPolice is a practicing Catholic and “happily married with three beautiful daughters.” Show your family values by being a part of an overwhelming Alan LaPolice victory in the GOP Primary Election.
