Dear Editor,
Saturday, Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts from Quivira Council will fan out into Great Bend, Hoisington and Ellinwood neighborhoods in hopes of collecting 100,000 pounds of food for deserving area families.
Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts’ annual effort to help tackle the problem of hunger in America.
Residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items such as packaged meats, baby formula and canned or boxed foods.
Contributors are asked to place their food donations outside their homes by 8 a.m. on Saturday. Area scouts will canvass the neighborhoods & pick up the items & deliver them to the local food banks.
Dixie Divis,
Great Bend
