Dear Editor,
Well, another 75 care packages are on their way. Thank you so much to all who helped pack them and to everyone who has ever donated to this nearly 10 year old project!!
I get tired and run-down during the weeks before a shipment.....spending hours just trying to get all addresses updated and correct, printing labels, counting forms, etc. Yesterday, there were two pieces of mail waiting for me at the American Legion, and I didn’t take the time to read them until today. One was a donation from American Legion Auxiliary (thank you ladies!) - and the other just made me cry!! It is what keeps me going, a thank you from a soldier:
“Dear Great Bend Military Moms,
Thank you so much for sending all the packages. How did you ever get so much love into those boxes? You have brought smiles to all our faces, so far away.
I’ve shared all the goodies with my platoon serving here. The food will go a long way. Our base doesn’t serve comfort food like from home. Every touch of home will keep the spirits up.
Thank you for your continued support to our troops and soldiers. We are able to keep going knowing everyone back home cares for us!
God Bless You All,
CW3 Kris Lemaster
Instructor Pilot”
OK - ready to start planning the next shipment.....
